A decades-old Las Vegas casino will soon be gone from the Las Vegas view to make way for a more luxurious and glamorous hotel and casino.
The owner, Boyd Gaming, will close the Stardust Resort and Casino on Nov. 1 so that construction of a new complex can begin. A multi-hotel and casino project, dubbed Echelon Place, covering 63 acres on the Las Vegas Strip, is expected to open in 2010.
The company will start tearing down the 48-year-old Stardust early next year.
The Stardust, like no other hotel, has been the embodiment of Vegas style and flash. It is truly a piece of Las Vegas' history.
