BAY ST. LOUIS, Mississippi – (PRESS RELEASE) – Performing in Hollywood is nothing new for world famous jazz legend Pete Fountain, who made more television appearances on Johnny Carson than any other entertainer. Perhaps Fountain's most compelling come back performances will be tomorrow night as he returns to the Oak Royale Room at 8 P.M. in Hollywood Casino Bay St. Louis, formerly Casino Magic. It will be his first public performance in more than a year following Hurricane Katrina.
Fountain packed the Oak Royale room two nights a week prior to Hurricane Katrina, when the property was known as Casino Magic Bay St. Louis. "We have a hand-full off tickets available for Friday night with more seats on Saturday, " said John Jagunich, Hollywood president and general manager. "At only $20 per person including two cocktails there's no better way to enjoy an evening out," said Jagunich.
It's been a tough year for the legendary jazz musician. He lost homes to Hurricane Katrina, underwent a quadruple bypass in March and has suffered other health problems throughout the summer. "I've had my mind focused on this night for more than a year now," said Fountain. "I invite everyone to come out and have wonderful time with us," said Fountain. Tomorrow night's show will be the first of his weekly scheduled performances with his longtime band every Friday and Saturday night in Hollywood Casino's Oak Royale Room. The $20 tickets include 2 free drinks and go on sale September 27th.
Hollywood Casino opened late August with the Hollywood Hotel offering 291 guest rooms, 900 new slot machines, 20 unique table games, and a new 6-table poker room. Three restaurants are open including, Tuscany Steaks and Seafood, Jackpot Java, and the all new Epic Buffet. The award-winning Bridges Golf Course opened last week and The Bridges Grill is under renovations and will open later this year.
