On Friday, Playboy opened its first new Playboy club in the last twenty years, since the last one (in Lansing, Michigan) was closed in 1988. Where else could Playboy have opened its newest club if not sin city itself?
The new club is located on the top three floors of the Palms hotel and casino and pays homage to the past Playboy clubs but introducing the new generation to the famous Playboy lifestyle. As always there are the lounge seating and also the famous Bunny outfits.
The biggest addition to the club though, is its casino license. It is also the first time in the past fifty years that customers will be charged a cover to access gambling areas by a Nevada club.
Playboy's fast-growing licensing business is expected to bring in $4 million a year, mostly due to slot machines, roulette and blackjack tables, which will be staffed by Playboy bunnies.
According to Playboy founder Hugh Hefner, the company is considering opening Playboy Clubs in other locations, where casino games are the main event. The destinations that are considered first are London and Macau, and then other locations in Europe, the Caribbean and Australia.
