Casino Moguls Wynn and Trump Plan New Casino in Atlantic City

Casino tycoons Donald Trump and Steve Wynn plan to build together one of the biggest casino and hotel towers in the world, on the Atlantic City boardwalk. Trump's veteran Trump Plaza, that was built in 1984, will be replaced with a $3 billion tower complex of over 50 stories. The tower, which is envisioned as one of the tallest structures along the Eastern Seaboard, would contain penthouses and terraced condos with panoramic views.

In the best Las Vegas and Atlantic City tradition, the project will host the best gaming, entertainment, clubs, restaurants and facilities that will draw tourists as well as high-rollers.

Trump and Wynn have decided to end a 20-year-old grudge between them by cooperating on this project after meeting at a Mets game last Thursday. The bad blood between the two started in the 80's. Wynn ran the Golden Nugget for seven years and eventually sold it out in 1987, vowing never to return to Atlantic City. He went on to building prominent Las Vegas casinos such as the Bellagio and Wynn Las Vegas.

Trump, on the other hand, owns three casinos in the city with his Trump Plaza sitting on the most prime location on the boardwalk.

In response to the news about the cooperation between the two casino moguls Trump Entertainment Resorts' shares went up 50 cents to $19.49 while Wynn Resorts Ltd. Actually went down 36 cents to $72.47.
