One of the biggest online casino operators in the world, 888 Holdings, said on Tuesday that net gaming revenue at its non-U.S. operations increased by 20 percent in the third quarter of 2006.
According the a statement by 888 Holdings, which is in talks with British betting company Ladbrokes, The company's revenue from non-U.S. operations have gone up to $38 million between July and September, compared with last year's $32 million revenue in the same period.
After the U.S. virtually banned online gambling, 888 and other online gambling companies, such as Party Gaming and Sportingbet, stopped accepting business from U.S. residents and instead are now focusing on the rest of the world and especially the European market.
"Despite the suspension of our real money gaming operations in the U.S., following the enactment of the Safe Ports Act in October 2006, our business continues to be sound and exhibit healthy growth in non-U.S. regions," said 888 Holdings Chief Executive John Anderson.
