Next Friday, November 17, the Pure nightclub at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas will host the second Annual Comedy Cares Celebrity Poker Tournament, benefiting the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles. Among the hosts of the event are comedians Robin Williams, Whoopi Goldberg and Billy Crystal, actor Mark Wahlberg and HBO CEO Chris Albrecht.
Among the many celebrity participants who will play against each other are Roseanne Barr and the stars of the television series Entourage: Adrian Grenier, Kevin Dillon, Kevin Connolly, Jeremy Piven and Jerry Ferrara.
The $15,000 buy-in will earn a the right to play against the celebrities, coaching by poker professionals Daniel Negreanu and Joe Nevarro and a chance to win prizes such as a 2007 custom Harley Davidson, VIP tickets for two days to the World Series of Poker Academy and more.
The first Celebrity Poker Tournament raised more than $350,000 and this year the organizers hope to top that for the sake of the Childrens Hospital Los Angeles. The hospital is an international leader in pediatric medicine and a vital resource for children and families in Southern California.
