Phil Hellmuth, one of the best poker players in the world and winner of 10 WSOP bracelets, will host this year's TASER Foundation's poker tournament for charity, which will take place on Saturday, December 9, at the Fort McDowell Casino in Scottsdale, Arizona.
The TASER Foundation for Fallen Officers was established in November 2004. Its mission is"to honor the service and sacrifice of local state and federal law enforcement officers in the United States and Canada lost in the line of duty by providing financial and educational benefits to their families."
The Second Annual "Playin' The Hand" Charity Poker Tournament For Fallen Officers will host a series of tournaments, including one "high roller" tournament with a $1000 buy-in, which will entitle players to compete against Hellmuth himself and Jim Bechte, another former World Champion. The winner of the tournament will get a seat at the Main Event for the 2007 World Series of Poker.
The first Texas Holdem tournament will start at 3 p.m. and the "high roller" tournament will begin at 7:30 p.m. with half of the prize pool dedicated to the TASER foundation.
