On Saturday morning, four armed men wearing ski masks burst into a poker tournament at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in Franklin Square, Long Island, NY, and robbed cash and cell phones from 80 players.
The robbers entered into the hall in which the Texas Holdem tournament took place while pointing guns at the crowd. According to the police, they demanded the money from the tournament pot and also grabbed the purses and wallets from the guests. However, no player was injured by the masked gunmen.
The robbers, described by witnesses as between 20 to 25 years old, about 5 feet 7 inches tall and dressed in dark clothing; took between $20,000 and $40,000 in cash. They were armed with Tek-9, 45 millimeter, and 9 millimeter pistols.
According to witnesses, they parked a van around the corner before they entered poker tournament from the rear. They managed to escape and police are still searching for the four armed robbers.
