Pamela Anderson, the former Baywatch star, has shut down her online poker site PamelaPoker.com. The actress has decided to close it down, just four months after opening it, due to the current status of online gambling in the United States.
Anderson wrote on her personal website that she regrets her involvement with the site:
"I have nothing to do with it anymore. Too many shady areas... I made a mistake getting involved in something I know nothing about for a quick buck!Yuck. So unlike me. Glad it's over."
In the past few months Anderson has been involved in celebrity gambling events with online poker site Doyle's Room's. Pamela Poker's launch was announced during a mock wedding between Anderson and Doyle Brunson, staged during the 2006 WSOP.
Since the new U.S. law was passed, which prohibits financial institutions from accepting or transferring funds from U.S. residents to online gambling sites, many of these sites have closed down or focused on players from the rest of the world.
Doyle's Room.com has taken over PamelaPoker.com and the actress is no longer connected with the site's operation.
