Another poker tournament robbery took place, after the recent armed robbery of a Texas Holdem tournament in Long Island, NY, where masked gunmen managed to escape with about $50,000 in cash. This time a poker game at Toronto's Thornhill Club was robbed by three masked men who were later caught by police.

On Wednesday, at about 4 a.m. two armed, masked robbers burst into the Thornhill Club in Toronto, Canada, while a third robber waited in a van outside the club. They proceeded to take cash and valuables from the players and the game tables.

Unlike the last robbery, in this case one of the players managed to alert the police, who responded promptly and arrived at the scene in time to see the van fleeing. During a high-speed car chase that ensued, one of the robbers opened a window and began shooting at the police officers.

The chase was broken off but police managed to identify the robbers and arrested two of them shortly thereafter, while the third one was found at noon on Wednesday in Toronto's London suburb.

Ryan Shields, 26, Ezra Lottery, 21 and Omar Jermaine Betty, 25, were charged with attempted murder, armed robbery and forcible confinement among other charges. They were denied bail and will return to court next week to proceed with the hearings.

Robbers are smarter than gamblers

Gamblers spend hours playing poker, lose money and get upset.

Robbers, on the other hand, simply come, collect ALL the money the gamblers have and go away happy and calm.

Conclusion: it's better to be a robber than a gambler. But... gamblers have more fun.
