According to latest information from the Indiana Gaming Commission, the French Lick casino, Indiana's newest casino received over a 150,000 people and made $9.4 million in revenues during its first month of operation.
The casino which opened on November 3 is now ranked 10th among Indiana's 11 casinos in revenue, while its admissions stand at 156,263 and ranked 6th in the state, which
owners hope will grow to more over a million visitors a year. Most of the visitors so far came to get a first look at the $382 million casino.
According to Mark Bommarito, French Lick's vice president of marketing and sales, the marketing staff was overwhelmed by the good response to the weekday tour buses that the casino operates in order to bring in players from the area.
The French Lick casino resort offers more than 400 rooms, a dozen restaurants and a spa.
The casino also generates many jobs for the people of the area which suffers from a high unemployment rate.
The total gross revenue of Indiana's casinos was $212 million last month, which shows a growth in the overall market.
