British Government Plans to Allow 24-hours Casinos

According to a new plan prepared by the British government, casinos would be allowed to be open for business all day long.

Currently, casinos are allowed to open in certain hours of the day, from 2pm to 6am, six days a week and closing at 4am on Sundays. If the new rules are approved, the right to determine if casinos may be open all day will be in the hands of their local authority.

Critics of the suggested rules say that this might allow problem gamblers to lose money around the clock. They also believe local authorities will be powerless to resist requests for 24-hour gambling

The new rules have come up just one week before the Government is due to publicize where will Britain's new super-casino will be located. This is done as part of the government's overhaul of the gambling industry in the country.

The government's advisory panel will also reveal the location of 16 other casinos on January 30.
