NBA star Charles Barkley said Monday that he won almost $700,000 while gambling in Las Vegas over the weekend.
Barkley said he played a lot of blackjack and bet that the Colts would win the Super Bowl. Barkley also said he had lost $2.5 million in just six hours last year. In an ESPN interview in May last year, Barkley estimated his gambling losses over the years at $10 million.
"It's a stupid, bad habit. I have a problem,'' Barkley said. "But the problem is when you can't afford it. I can afford to gamble.
Barkley was named the NBA's Most Valuable Player in 1993 and in 1996. He was named one of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History. Barkley also won the Olympic gold medal with the U.S. Dream Teams in the 1992 and 1996 Games.
