Las Vegas Sands, one of the biggest casino operators in the world, said it is interested in building Britain's planned Las Vegas-style super casino in Manchester.
Las Vegas Sands wishes to build a full entertainment complex with a total investment of $760 million, twice as much as its competitor has proposed. The complex will include shopping centers and housing, as part of the development, in addition to the casino.
The current favorite candidate to take on the project is Kerzner International with interest also reported to come from MGM Mirage, Harrah’s Entertainment and Ladbrokes.
Britain's Casino Advisory panel two weeks ago named decided that Manchester is its surprise choice to host the Britain's first Las Vegas-style super-casino.
Las Vegas Sands are also currently waiting for approval from the Chinese government for its proposed casino resort on Hengqin Island, a small island off the south coast of China.
