A poker player who was found guilty of attempting to shoot other players two years ago skipped out on $40,000 bail and didn't appear for his sentencing, which was scheduled for Tuesday.
During the early morning hours on July 7 2005, 45-year-old Harold Hoskins, from Williamsport, Pennsylvania was playing poker at a friend's home. He lost all he had on the final hand he became infuriated, left the house and returned a short time later with a gun.
He proceeded to collect all of the players' money and held his gun to the head of one of the players, Donnie Evans. Hoskins then pulled the trigger twice. The gun jammed due to the fact that it was loaded with the wrong type of ammunition and didn't fire.
During his two-day jury trial in February, the jurors found Hoskins guilty of all charges against him after four hours.
County Judge William S. Kieser issued a bench warrant for Hoskins arrest after he failed to show for his sentencing on two counts each of attempted homicide and robbery and several counts relating to the possession of a firearm and crack cocaine.
