PartyGaming, one of the largest online gambling companies in the world and operator of Party Poker, said Wednesday it will no longer permit clients from Turkey to bet at the company's gambling site, following a recent anti-gambling legislation in the country.

Turkey has recently passed legislation that prohibits online gaming offered by unauthorized domestic or foreign companies. PartyGaming, which also withdrew from the U.S. market after Legislator passed a law in October 2006 which closed the industry in the country.

PartyGaming said that revenue from customers in Turkey does not represent a significant amount of its revenue. In March, PartyGaming reported a 56 percent fall in annual net profits following the U.S. ban on online gambling, but said its attempts to find revenue elsewhere were beginning to show success.

The company's shares rose 4 percent to 58.5 pence on the London Stock Exchange.
