A gambling addiction caused a Minnesota man to steal $500,000 worth of silver from his employer.
Jaydn John-Sessing, a 31-year-old man from Farmington, allegedly stole more than 4,500 pounds of commercial grade silver worth almost $500,000. He took an ounce or two every week for three years.
John-Sessing, a compulsive gambler, gambled away almost $1,000,000 at two Minnesota casinos with the money he got from the silver and by maxing out his credit cards for over $50,000.
John-Sessing worked at Cooperative Plating for 13 years. The silver nuggets he stole are used in the production process at the plating company. According to police, the silver was sold to a pawn shop.
Police found out that John-Sessing was in so deep after checking up employee backgrounds at Cooperative Plating, where thefts had recently occurred.
