The Atlantic City Hilton casino has become the fifth resort casino to face a union vote for organization of its dealers. Caesars and Trump Plaza have already had overwhelming elections approving organization by the U.A.W.

Trump Marina has an election on May 11th. Bally’s Casino has an election on June 2nd.

The U.A.W. had success in Detroit in organizing the dealers in Detroit’s three casinos.

The union’s strategy appears to be to organize a majority of the city’s dealers before taking any action.

This reporter has talked to dealers at the balance of the casinos in Atlantic City and can verify based on their statements that organizing is taking place.

In an Atlantic City Press article dated May 5 Anthony Rodio, chief executive of the Hilton, has stated that 175 dealers have asked for their cards back. There are approximately 650 dealers. In the article, Rodio mentions that he has ‘spoken personally to every dealer.’
