Atlantic City's Bally’s casino on Monday filed a complaint to set aside the results of a recent union election for the casino dealers.
The election in which the dealers voted 628-255 in favor of representation by the union Ballys says the UAW acted unfairly.
Monday was the deadline for the casino to file a complaint. They have filed 10 objections with The National Labor Relations Board.
Some of the objections are
- Threatened voters not supporting the union
- Offered ‘bribes’
- Threatened dealers with loss of a job if they did not support the UAW
- Failure of union personnel to enforce ‘election conduct mandated by the NLRB
The Bally's vote followed unsuccessful attempts to unionize at other Atlantic City casinos - the Trump Marina Hotel Casino and the Atlantic City Hilton.
Dealers at two other casinos, the Trump Plaza hotel and Caesars Atlantic City voted to join the UAW, which already represents dealers at three Detroit casinos, in March.
