A gang of professional gamblers were caught by the police in New Jersey after an attempted high-stakes poker scam.

The four-man gang was trying to scam players in a $2 million poker tournament held at the Borgata casino and resort in Atlantic City. The tournament was a $5,000 buy-in with 337 entrants.

The gang was caught by police in a nearby casino resort, in a room filled with hi-tech surveillance equipment used to spy on the other players' cards. Police suspects they were then passing on the information to an accomplice at the same table.

The case is currently under investigation by the FBI, to see whether the gang has used this scam before. One of the arrested gang members is said to be an expert on casino crime who has advised many top Las Vegas casinos.
