Fired Employee Files Second Lawsuit Against Tropicana Casino

Vincent Rennich, a former table games supervisor at the Tropicana Casino in Atlantic City has filed a wrongful termination lawsuit against the casino.

Rennich, as has been previously reported, was discharged in early March after 26 years employment with the property. Columbia Sussex Corporation bought the Aztar corporation resort after the New Year.

Rennich has one lawsuit pending after being diagnosed with lung cancer and never having been a smoker.

Prior to his termination, which took place among some other 700 layoffs, the supervisor had been an outspoken critic of the dangers in the workplace of second hand-smoke. He testified at a state government health hearing regarding second hand smoke one week before his discharge.

His first lawsuit against Tropicana was that the casino maintained an unsafe environment without protective safeguards for its employees contributing to his cancer. He stated that his last review before being fired had reflected satisfactory to outstanding performance.

Rennich is currently unemployed and to have health insurance must spend over one thousand dollars a month.

His second lawsuit seeks lost wages, interest, legal fees, pain and suffering and punitive damages.
