Bodog.com, the gambling site owned by billionaire Calvin Ayre, was forced to move to a new website address after losing most of the company's domain names to 1st Technology LLC in a legal dispute.

Bodog.com was out of service Monday and Tuesday, following a $48.6-million default judgment obtained by the Las Vegas-based company. The dispute is over a patent infringement issue.

1st Entertainment sued Bodog in September 2006 in a Nevada federal court claiming Bodog was illegally using a "method and system for interactively transmitting multimedia information over a network which requires a reduced bandwidth."

on June 14, after Bodog representatives failed to appear in court, the judge ordered Bodog to pay the mentioned fine to 1st Technology for patent infringement.

In an online message to Bodog user, said Calvin Ayre, "This is the result of a legal dispute over the ownership of the Bodog.com domain name. We are fighting this dispute. We are confident that we will win, but until all is settled, I do not want our battle to interrupt your play."
