The first winner of a WSOP bracelet outside of the United States is Thomas Bihl from Germany, who came on top in the £2,500 HORSE tournament that kicked off the first run of the WSOPE.
The final table of the HORSE event had some notable professionals including Jennifer Harman and WSOP bracelet winner Kirk Morrison in the final three, Chris Ferguson was fourth and Alex Kravchenko, Yuval Bronshtein and Joe Beevers and Gary Jones in 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th places respectively.
In the final table which lasted for 13 hours, even though Bihl eventually went heads up with Harman with a 2-1 chip disadvantage, he managed to play aggressively and turn the match to his advantage and win £70,875.
The WSOPE consists of three events. The second WSOPE event, is a £5,000 PLO event and the Main Event is a £10,000 buy-in with an expected 750 player field. It will be a six day tournament spread out over three casinos and has an estimated prize pool of 7.4 pound Sterling million.
