The poker scene in Europe is heating up since the World Series of Poker special event for Europe earlier this year. Harrah's Entertainment Inc. also plans to hold an online equivalent, with plans for the World Series of Poker Europe online poker room being announced earlier this week.
Gary Loveman announced the plans during the Global Gaming Expo in North America on Wednesday, citing the more gambling friendly legal atmosphere of Europe as one of the main reasons for the plans.
The first World Series of Poker Europe event was held in London back in September, with the fourth European Poker Tour starting shortly after. Annette Obrestad made history at the tournament, becoming the youngest WSOP winner ever, and taking home a £1 million prize.
Next year's World Series of Poker will run from May 30th through to July 17, and registration will begin on May 26th, in a bit to reduce the long queues that occurred at last year's event.
