The competitors for the New Year edition of Poker After Dark have been announced. The competitors for the “Dream Table” week will be: Daniel 'Kid Poker' Negreanu, Phill Hellmuth, Jennifer Harman, Mike Matusow, Ken Light, and Scotty Nguyen.
The show, which will see Shana Hiatt returning as host, will start on December 31st.
Poker After Dark, which usually airs at 2AM, has been a suprise hit for NBC. The show features six professional poker players, all fighting for a $120,000 prize – two which they all contributed $20,000.
This will be the third seasons of Poker After Dark. Scotty Nguyen and Ken Light are newcomers to the show, while the others have made appearances in the previous two seasons – with Mike Matusow, Phil Hellmuth and Daniel Negreanu having faced off against each other, Phil Laak, and Antonio Esfandiara in the 6th episode of season 2, which was titled 'Live to Hurt'. That episode aired in the last week of September, 2007.
Season 3 will feature some interesting tables, including a World Champions match, and an episode where Gus Hansen faces off against five female professional poker players.
