The New Year is almost upon us, and with it comes a new round of poker tournaments. The most interesting, and popular, of which will be the World Poker Tour Series 6.
One of the first tournaments to be offering a seat at the World Poker Tour as a prize this year is the World Poker Open. The first World Poker Open events will start on January 3rd, and run until January 19th. Once the preliminary events have been concluded, the main event will start, and this will run until the 24th. This $10,000 event will offer a seat at the World Poker Tour, and a trophy, along with a cash prize of more than $1,000,000.
The World Poker Tour main event includes 15 high stakes Texas Holdem poker tournaments, and offers a total prize pool of more than $100 million. The tournaments are spread across the globe, with events being held in locations ranging from Costa Rica to Barcelona, France, and several different states in the U.S.
The World Poker Open will be held at the Gold Strike Casino in Tunica, MS. The Gold Strike Casino is located about 20 miles outside of Memphis, and is tallest building in Tunica.
