World Poker Tour Open - Day 2

The World Poker Tour Open in Tunica is starting to heat up – with 143 players still in the game, and only 27 allowed to take part in the finals.

Day 2 was a long day for many people, although some big names, including Vanessa Rousso, Alex Jacob, and David Pham found themselves out of contention more quickly than they'd hoped – sparing themselves from an arduous day, but losing at least $12,600 in the process.

John Phan started the day with more than 37,000 in chips, and drew a lot of attention. He started drinking beer early in the day, and appeared quite inebriated by the end of the evening, with his play style reflecting his state. Despite his apparent drunkenness, he still made it to the final 27.

Kathy Liebert was eliminated towards the end of the day, meaning she lost a bet with money-finisher Barry Greenstein – on day one they had made a 'last longer' bet for $20,000.

The top ten chip finishers were:

1. Erick Lindgren
2. Dutch Boyd
3. Gabe Costner
4. Freddy Deeb
5. Men Nguyen
7. William McMahon
8. Michael Baas
9. John Spadavecchia
10. Jimmy Tran
