This Wednesday a new kind of poker game is heading to Xbox Live Arcade.
Poker Smash, created by independent developer Void Star Creations, is a fast paced game somewhere in between poker and tetris. Poker Smash will have you frantically trying to clear a grid of poker cards, by arranging them into poker hands. To spice things up a little, the game offers card blasting bombs, and a slow-motion trigger to give you breathing space when you're caught in a bind.
The game features seven different game modes, ranging from action to puzzle games, and a split screen multi-player option. Like other live arcade games, there are 200 achievement points to be earned, giving you a fun way to boost your gamer score. The achievements range from 'Score of The Gods' where you have to reach 1 million points, to 'Pack Rat', which is awarded for unlocking all the themes in the game.
Poker Smash has 30 minutes of original music, and high quality graphics. It will be available from 9am on Wednesday 6th February, at a cost of 800 Microsoft Points.
If you're a poker fan after a change of pace, or a beginner who wants to learn all the variations of hand, this game could be a great way to practice.
