Brad Garrett is putting his funnyman act on hold for a day to host a poker tournament for a serious cause on April 20th. The charity poker tournament will be helpd at the Hollywood Park Casino, with proceeds going to the 1736 Family Crisis Center.
The 1736 Family Crisis Center is dedicated to providing help and services to abandoned youths and domestic violence victims. The center is funded wholly by grants and donations. Brad Garrett is a poker player and comedy actor who has recently appeared in films such as Underdog, Ratatouille, and Everyone Loves Raymond.
The tournament is scheduled to begin at 1 PM, with a $350 buy in, and $100 rebuys available in the first hour. There will be several celebrity friends of Garrett attending, including Ray Romano, Mimi Rogers, Jennie Garth, Anthony Anderson, and professional poker player Cyndy Violette.
The winner of the tournament will receive $10,000 in cash, and the second place player will earn a seat in the World Poker Tour Celebrity Invitational 2009. The top 10 places will all receive cash or prizes.
