Sony Online Entertainment have announced High Stakes on the Vegas Strip: Poker Edition – a poker game for the Playstation 2 that allows you to play poker online against your friends, and uses the EyeToy USB camera to let you see your opponents, and get all those face-to-face advantages during online play.
High Stakes on the Vegas Strip allows you to challenge up to five players at once, and is the first poker game on the Playstation Network to offer live video and audio feeds, you can also play on the move with the Playstation Portable (PSP) remote play feature.
Online leaderboards and detailed hand statistics make it easy to track your play and use the information to improve your game, and the free downloadable add-ons let you try out a range of different poker styles.
High Stakes on the Vegas Strip: Poker Edition is available as a digital download on the Playstation Network. The game costs $9.99 plus tax, and there are several free add-ons available to expand the game.
If you're a fan of online cash games, then playing on a console may not appeal, but the addition of the Eye Toy video camera is a great idea in my opinion, and it could be a good way to play poker with your friends, and keep track of various statistics if you take your poker game seriously.
