A Granville woman could face child neglect charges after police were alerted to the fact that she had left her children alone in her car while she went to play a game of poker in a nearby bar.

The police were alerted at around 1 A.M, that there were children left unattended in the parking lot of Woody's Press Box on Clyde Park Avenue in Wyoming. The children, aged 5, 10, and 15, had been left there for 'a significant period of time'. The police arrived at 1:17 AM.

They were sleeping when the officers arrived, and the police contacted the children's father, who was not at the bar. He took custody of them. Fortunately, the children were safe and well.

The woman, who is aged 36, has not been named, pending possible charges. The case has been turned over to detectives for investigation, and protective services workers have been contacted. Wyoming police Capt. Brad Schutter said that reports will be forwarded to Kent County prosecutors who will review it for possible charges.

Officers found the mother playing Texas Hold'em inside the bar. The poker game was apparently part of a charity event.
