Following on from the success of 21: The Movie, a new poker film, Deal, staring Burt Reynolds, Shannon Elizabeth, and Bret Harrison, will be heading to cinemas around the world on April 25th. Deal is a classic story of friendship and competition.
The film tells the story of Alex Stillman (Bret Harrison) – a cocky young poker playing student from Yale University. Stillman meets retired poker legend Tommy Vinson (Burt Reynolds), who takes Stillman under his wing, and teaches him about the game, helping him become a poker pro.
Vinson regains his enthusiasm for poker, and the pair dominate the poker scene, until Stillman falls for a Las Vegas call girl called Michelle (Shannon Elizabeth), and the friendship begins to fall apart. The pair eventually go their separate ways, only to meet again as opponents at the World Series of Poker, where they compete against each other fiercely.
The movie will include appearances by professional poker players such as Antonio Esfandiara, Phill Laak, Chris Moneymaker, and Joe Hachem.
Deal is being produced by poker pro Scott Lazar, who also makes an appearance in the film.
