A fight at a poker table at the Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort in Atlantic City had fatal consequences. The fight broke out on Saturday afternoon. The victim was stabbed repeatedly, and was transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, but was pronounced dead at 4:05pm.
A Georgian man, Vicente Perez, aged 57, has been arrested following the altercation. The name of the victim will not be released until his family have been notified. An autopsy is scheduled to take place later today.
According to witness reports, the two men started fighting at one of the Taj Mahal's poker tables, and the fight continued after they left the casino and went to the parking garage.
Casino customers have commented that the attack has left them nervous, with one woman customer saying “That means there is no safe place to go [...] That means people just carry weapons anywhere”.
According to a spokeswoman from the Atlantic County prosecutors, Mr Perez will face two weapons charges, along with a charge of aggravated manslaughter.
