Work on the Hoosier Park Casino is drawing to a close. The casino will be a 24 hour gambling center, and will feature around 2,000 electronic slot machines. The casino is almost completed, and testing work is about to begin.

The Hoosier Park casino is expected to open at 9a.m on June 2nd, pending approval from the Indiana Gaming Commission. There will be a series of two hour gambling shifts starting on May 29th, when thousands of invited guests will get a sneak peak at the casino, and test the new equipment.

The Hoosier Park casino covers an area of 92,000 sq feet, with huge rows of slot machines and other electronic games machines, and an elevated bar in the center of the building. Jim Brown, the Hoosier Park gaming general manager stressed that "This isn't a warehouse with slot machines [...] We designed this facility to be a seamlessly integrated racino, gaming and dining facility." - pointing out the other features of the casino, which include horse track races, and several bars and restaurants, ranging from a full service buffet, to a steakhouse.

In the future, more services could be added, including live shows, with the casino able to accommodate 500 people in an indoor performance area, and about 5,000 for outdoor shows.

The opening of the Hoosier Park Casino will create more than 500 new jobs for the area.
