Trump Entertainment Resorts remains committed to Atlantic City despite selling one of its casinos.
Trump Entertainment Resorts has announced it has agreed to sell its Trump Marina Hotel Casino venue in Atlantic City.Donald Trump recently claimed he had no interest in offloading his three resorts in New Jersey's gaming capital, following rumours suggesting Australian casino mogul James Packer was interested in purchasing them.
However, a $316 million (£158 million) offer for the Trump Marina from Coastal Marina appears to have helped him to change his mind.
The new owner plans to change the resort's name to Margaritaville - the brand used by country singer turned businessman Jimmy Buffett.
Despite the decision to sell the casino complex and the downturn in the gaming market in Atlantic City, chief executive Mark Juliano insisted Trump Entertainment Resorts has no plans to move out of New Jersey altogether.
He explained that the planned upgrades at the Taj Mahal and Plaza would go ahead and added: "We are closely evaluating the variety of options before us to create value for our shareholders, including additional development in Atlantic City."
