A billboard near airport helps betting firm break into the Guinness Book of World Records.
Betting group Betfair has broken into the Guinness Book of World Records this month due to an original advertising campaign. The company spelled out a marketing message using plants in a field just outside Vienna International Airport - and at 436,000 sq m, it was the largest ad ever recorded.
It took four months to grow, but the message is likely to have been spotted by thousands of football fans making their way to the European Championships, which are currently being held in the city.
Croatia, Germany and Poland were three countries who played in the Austrian capital during the group stages, meaning fans from these nations would have been among the first to see Betfair's record-breaking sign.
Vienna hosted two quarter-final matches over the last four days as well, giving the marketing message further exposure. The Euro 2008 final on June 29th will also be played in the city.
