Poker tournament in Canada on Saturday

Part of the fees from the poker tournament registrations will go to the Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society, while a silent auction will also be held to raise funds for the charity.

The MS Society is set to benefit from a poker tournament held in Canada this coming weekend.

In what is being dubbed the first ever annual celebrity poker tournament in support of MS, various Canadian celebrities will be heading to the Century Casino & Hotel in the city of Edmonton.

Famous Canadians expected to turn up for the poker event include Playboy model Rochelle Loewen and Edmonton Eskimo football "legend" Singor Mobley.

Proceedings get underway at 14:00 local time on Saturday June 14th, following the fundraising auction - which kicks off at noon. The card games will be played in the casino's new 24-hour poker room.

Announcing the event yesterday, the casino claimed that the Edmonton Journal's "poker legend" Sandra Sperounes will also be dealt a hand at the charity tournament.

Visitors to Century Casino can choose between a variety of table and card games, including baccarat, craps, Caribbean poker and blackjack.
