Carragher Backs 888Sport.com's 7/1 Shot For Euro Success

888Sport.com's second favourite for Euro 2008 top scorer is backed by Liverpool defender to shine at this month's competition.

Spain's Fernando Torres, who is 7/1 with 888Sport.com to finish Euro 2008 as top scorer, is going to set the tournament alight, according to his Liverpool team mate Jamie Carragher.

The Scouse defender told Liverpoolfc.tv, the Merseyside club's official website, that Torres "could be the difference for Spain".

Torres scored 33 goals in his debut season with the Reds and Carragher, who has watched the forward strike fear into English and European defences over the last few months, thinks that Spain will be looking for their talisman to get five or six goals.

"If he performs as well as he has done for us then I'm sure he can do that," Liverpool's vice captain told the website.

Portugal's Cristiano Ronaldo was also touted by Carragher to be high up the goal chart. If Portugal and Spain do well, the tournament's highest scorer will come from Ronaldo or Torres, he said.

Some of Torres' best finishes during the 2007-08 season came against Inter Milan, Chelsea and Marseille.
