GTech Corporation Announces New Chairman

GTech Corporation has unveiled a "world-class executive" as its new chairman from the turn of the year.

Donald Sweitzer has been announced as the new chairman of gambling technology and services company GTech Corporation.

He will start in his new position on January 1st 2009 with the aim of fronting the organisation's moves to seek new business opportunities and commercial partnerships.

GTech is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Lottomatica Group and the latter's chairman and chief executive Lorenzo Pellicioli believes Mr Sweitzer is the correct man for the job.

"With a decade of experience at GTech and more than 20 years of government affairs and consulting services to the company, Don is a world-class executive," he commented.

Mr Pellicioli added that the new appointment will be a "great ambassador" for his firm in the future.

GTech has announced a number of personnel changes over the last few months. In March, Fabio Celadon was revealed as the company's new senior vice president of strategic planning.
