Chief diversity officer at gambling group is honoured to be acknowledged at an Asian business awards evening.
Casino company Harrah's Entertainment had some good news to report this week as its chief diversity officer Fred Keeton picked up the 2008 Advocate of the Year accolade at the 15th National Asian Entrepreneur Award ceremony.Mr Keeton was presented with his award by Asian Enterprise Magazine, along with five other figures from the world of business.
The recognition comes one month after the casino group announced a year-on-year drop in revenue following what company chairman Gary Loveman described as "challenging economic conditions".
Revenues were reportedly 2.1 per cent down in the first quarter of 2008, compared to the opening three months in 2007.
Commercial recognition this week will be seen as a boost though, with Mr Keeton saying he was happy to be presented with his award.
"At Harrah's Entertainment, we are honoured to support small companies that are building businesses and creating future opportunities for the Asian-Pacific community," he remarked.
