Poker professional Daniel Negreanu has said that playing safe can lead to success in card-game tournaments.
Playing a safe game is a "recipe for success" in the big poker tournaments around the world, according to professional card player Daniel Negreanu.Writing in his weekly column for the Press-Register, Kid Poker claims that some may disagree with this way of playing the game, but it is a way of winning the top events.
The fewer risks a player takes in a poker tournament, the better chance they will have of success, he states.
"Some even claim that it's too weak and passive [to play poker in this way]," he writes. "That being said, playing safe poker is still a proven recipe for success."
And Negreanu has shown himself to be a man people should take note of. The Canadian picked up his fourth World Series of Poker bracelet last week after outlasting a tough field in a $2,000 (£1,000) limit hold'em poker event.
