On July 3rd, the first day of the World Series of Poker Main Event, the Rio will be hosting a preview of a new musical. Titled 'All In: The Poker Musical, the hour long concert format show will make it's world debut on the 4th and 5th July at the Masquerade Theatre in Rio.
All In: The Poker Musical was created by Tim Molyneux, with help from professional poker player Phil Hellmuth, and the World Series of Poker. It is the first musical to be themed around poker, and also the first musical to have been written in conjunction with a sports brand of such size.
All In tells the story of the final table of players at a World Series of Poker main event. The players come from all works of life, and the story is littered with poker analogies and quotes that related to real life. The average final table usually features a wide range of people and personalities, and that is the kind of story the musical tells.
Hellmuth said "Through the lyrics of the songs and style of music, we see not only who these final nine players are, but we are able to see ourselves, our families, and our world. [...] Tim is known for writing very commercial material that is not only creative but sexy, hip and attainable for the masses. His poker musical sings loudly that poker is for everyone and we are all in this special game and this world together."
