Rank Group Has New Casino Managing Director

New managing director at gambling firm's Grosvenor Casinos has now been in the job for one week.

Phil Urban has now been in the managing director role at Rank Group's casino business Grosvenor Casinos for one week.

Although the change in casino director was announced last month, Mr Urban only took up his new position on June 2nd 2008.

He replaced Peter McCann, who had been involved with Rank Group in a number of different capacities for 28 years.

Speaking last month, chief executive of Rank Ian Burke said: "I am delighted that Phil has chosen to join us as managing director of our casinos business at this time of change and opportunity in the gaming industry."

Rank now hopes to create a "truly modern gaming-based leisure business" following Mr Urban's arrival, he added.

In May, Rank announced that it had experienced "a modest improvement in average weekly revenue levels" during the first four months of 2008, compared to the final third of 2007.
