Singh - chasing win in Memphis

Sports betting fans may have seen that Fijian golfer Vijay Singh is currently in third place as he looks for a hat-trick of successes in the week prior to the US Open.

For those looking for betting tips for the Stanford St Jude Championship, which is currently being played in Memphis, Tennessee, Fijian golfer Vijay Singh's past form could provide some answers.

On two separate occasions Singh has gone into the US Open championship after winning tournaments the week before - and as he starts his second round at TPC Southwind, the second Major of the year at Torrey Pines is one week away.

The PGA website reports that the Fijian picked up PGA trophies at the 1993 and 2006 Barclays tournaments before competing in the US Open both years.

Singh is currently in third place on the leaderboard after carding a three-under 67 in the opening round and starts day two looking to catch leader Boo Weekley, who is two shots ahead.

Sports betting website 888Sport.com is offering Weekley at 5/6 to beat Chad Campbell and Tim Herron in today's head-to-head. The same company has set odds of 25/1 that Singh will pick up the US Open title next week.

The action at Torrey Pines, where Tiger Woods is scheduled to make his comeback from injury, gets underway on June 12th.
