This Tuesday there were three bracelets awarded in just one day at the World Series of Poker. Yes, three bracelets!
The day saw the final tables of three different events, showcasing the best play for a broad spectrum of poker games, with another event heading towards a final table showdown soon.
One of the events was the $1,000 Ladies No-Limit World Championship. Svetlana Gromenkoa came to the final table with a strong lead, and managed to retain the lead and take the win, along with a specially designed Ladies Corum bracelet and $244,702 in prize money, beating Anh Le, who took home a $144,567 prize for second place. Le is no stranger to second, finishing in that same position three years ago as runner up to Jennifer Tilly.
Jason Young took the bracelet and $335,565 in winnings after beating Mike Schwartz in the $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em Shootout – the field of 1,000 entrants ran down to just ten after two long rounds, and the winners were quickly decided. Shwartz took home $209,527 for his second place, while John Strzemp III took third place for $129,675.
The third event in which a bracelet was decided was the $2,000 Limit Omaha Hi/Lo tournament. The poker tournament ran until 3am in the morning, which was not unexpected since the field started with 18 players. Eventually Andrew Brown defeated Ted Forest for the top prize. Brown took home $226,483 and his first ever gold bracelet, while Forest took home $143,420 for his second place.
