Gamblers in Colorado may have the chance to win bigger prizes following potential changes to blackjack betting limits in the state, it has been suggested.
There is a good chance that the minimum blackjack wager in Colorado is set to increase to $100 (£50) in November. At least that is the opinion of GamblingResort.com, which has stated that a ballot is taking place in the state to try and raise the current maximum bet of $5.
Gambling towns in Colorado include Black Hawk, Central City and Cripple Creek, but at present it is "nearly impossible to beat the house" due to the small bets being placed at these towns' casinos.
Even players deploying the best blackjack strategies can apparently find it hard to come away from these venues in the black.
Other table games such as craps and roulette may also be added to the state's casinos if the winter initiative to raise minimum bets is successful.
And it would seem that gamblers would like things to change, as the travel website claims most of them think the $5 wager "is child's play" and that winning $5 "carries no excitement".
When arriving at casinos in Colorado people generally find themselves in the shadows of the Rocky Mountains. One casino town, Cripple Creek, sits on the slopes of the famous Pike's Peak, which can be seen for miles around the state.
