A casino in the north-west of England was the scene of a poker tournament between a selection of different card game communities at the weekend.G Casino in Blackpool provided the backdrop for the APAT UK Team Championship, which involved a number of competitions within one event.
Poker team challenges and individual contests were held over the course of the two-day tournament.
Mary Martin, who was representing Raise the River, won the individual event - she was the only female player to make the final table. Ms Martin beat Andrew Bailey in the heads-up.
Raise the River's website claimed that their player's win was a "fantastic result for the community" and "a great advert for poker". It also suggested that Ms Martin is one of the nicest players around.
Bristol and South-West Meetup, who had two players at the final table, won the team competition, which was sponsored by Blue Square.
