Coronation Street's Michael Le Vell admits that he plays poker every Tuesday.

A star from long-running ITV1 soap Coronation Street has revealed that he enjoys a game of poker every Tuesday.

Michael Le Vell, who plays Kevin Webster in the Salford-based programme, told the Sentinel newspaper that he is a regular poker player.

He was talking to the publication ahead of the weekend's charity football match for former England goalkeeper Gordon Banks, where he had been chosen to captain one of the sides.

His poker-playing exploits were uncovered as he explained how he got involved in the football game, which took place at Stoke City's Britannia Stadium.

"I play poker every Tuesday night and happened to be playing with one of the people who [was] organising the game," said Le Vell.

The actor is not the only soap star, who enjoys a game of poker.

Last month, former EastEnders star Michael Greco - who played Beppe Di Marco - joined Littlewoods Poker and has represented the company in various card tournaments around the world.
