UK bingo hall operator Gala Bingo is starting an 18 month long mammoth fund raising effort to raise money for the Sue Ryder Care charity.
The company aims to raise £1 million for the charity, which provides care for people who are suffering from serious illnesses, as well as offering help and support for their families.
The Sue Ryder Care Charity offers help for people with a number of illnesses, including cancer, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's Disease, Motor Neurone Disease, Huntington's Disease and dementia, as well as those recovering from brain injuries or a stroke.
The Gala Coral group selected Sue Ryder Care as their chosen charity following an employee vote, and the fund raiser will include all parts of the company, including their 1,800 retail outlets.
Neil Goulden, the Chief Executive of the Gala Coral Group, said “Everyone at Galat Coral is delighted to be associated with our chosen charity, Sue Ryder Care, and the outstanding work they carry out. We have a long history of raising money for a variety of good causes, now we are focusing on a nominated charity that the whole group can support. We are positive that the Gala Coral teams will get behind the fundraising initiatives, and help to raise as much money as possible.”
