Online betting firm offers its opinion on who will win the sprinting events at this weekend's pre-Olympic Games meeting in London.
Tyson Gay is the favourite to win the 100 metres at the Aviva London Grand Prix at Crystal Palace, according to online betting company Betdirect. It is likely that the American will beat Jamaican Asafa Powell in the sprinting event, while current 100 metres world record holder Usain Bolt will take part in the 200 metres instead, the group claims.
Bolt, who ran 9.72 seconds over the shorter distance earlier in the year, may well aim to double up by trying to put his name in the record books for the 200 metres.
Charlie McCann, head of public relations at Betdirect, built up the London competition, which runs from July 25th to 26th.
"It's a privilege for the athletics public to be able to give the British athletes a royal send-off and also it's an absolute privilege to see some of the greatest athletes in the world," he said.
